Morningside Restoration

The dignified Regency villa pictured here had determinedly presided over its two-lot site for nearly eighty years. Often, people new to this old neighborhood of Tudor cottages and arts and crafts bungalows, exclaimed with delight upon discovering this unexpected and charming classical house. Following the death of the original owner just a few years ago, developers began eying the property for development and the fate of the lovely old house was decidedly imperiled. Happily, new owners who appreciated the importance of the house and its property to the neighborhood appeared and began a three year process of planning and executing restorations and careful additions to the house and grounds. Additions included not only family room and screened porch, but also a delightful semi-detached story-and-a half library pavilion.
